CAGELCO II actively participated in the 2025 First Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill today, March 13 in line with the memorandum of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
Aparriโs Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer 1 and Admin & Training Head, Mr. Clifford Costales gave a lecture to CAGELCO II employees on how to protect themselves and react correctly & automatically when the shaking begins.
Mr. Costales reminded the CAGELCO II workforce of ๐จ๐น๐ฌ๐จ๐ฏ๐ฌ. ๐จ-๐จ๐๐๐๐, ๐น-๐น๐๐๐๐๐๐๐, ๐ฌ-๐ฌ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐, ๐จ-๐จ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐, ๐ฏ-๐ฏ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐ ๐ฌ-๐ฌ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐, a systematic way to ensure the safety of all employees and reduce adverse effects of said phenomenon.
At 3:00 PM, the alarm went off to signal the earthquake drill simulation and the Employees together with the OJTs, Utility personnel immediately performed the Duck, Cover, Hold protocol.
LMC Chairperson/ISD Manager Kristine T. Basquez and Health & Safety Committee Chairperson/APSO Area Manager Engr. Nathaniel L. Reyes spearheaded the conduct of the said activity, affirming the Cooperativeโs commitment to maintain and strengthen the Cooperativeโs safety procedure during possible earthquakes and fire explosions in the workplace.
CAGELCO II would like to extend its gratitude to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council composed of representatives from MDRRMO, Rural Health Unit-Aparri East, Bureau of Fire Protection, PNP-Aparri, PNP-Maritime, BJMP, Phil. Marines, and Coast Guard who conducted post-evaluation of the earthquake and fire drill which reminded the Cooperative to enforce its safety plan, policies and system to ensure overall awareness and preparedness in the face of emergencies.
