As we conclude this month’s celebration of the 15TH National Electrification Awareness Month, CAGELCO II has launched its first ever planting of mangroves which took place at Brgy. Rapuli, Sta. Ana, Cagayan.
Three thousand mangrove saplings were planted together with CAGELCO II Gonzaga Sub-office and Main Office Employees led by Ms. Teresita F. Ordillo, Area Manager for Gonzaga Sub – office , LGU Sta. Ana Employees headed by Ms. Florence T. Doniego, Admin Assistant V, MENRO Personnel headed by Relito V. Bautista as the MENRO Designate, Brgy. Captain Dotherty L. Viloria and his barangay officials as well as members of the Municipal Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council (FARMC) thru Chairman Armando Villaver, Jr.
With a common goal of conserving our coastlines, CAGELCO II initiated this vital activity to help address environmental degradation and contribute to its sustainability. Armed with a strong desire to help combat climate change, the CAGELCO II employees and other participants remained motivated to accomplish the task at hand despite the physical challenges.
The cooperative commits to regularly monitor and care for the planted mangroves thru the barangay to foster community participation. ###
