After a month-long training, 35 aspiring lineman have successfully completed the rigorous training program, which equipped them with essential technical skills and knowledge required to perform the demanding duties of a professional lineworker.
The Lineworker Training Course (LTC) which started last October 06 covered lectures on Specifications and Drawings for Distribution Line Construction and Pole exercises to include in mastery in Pole Climbing, Material Identification, Tying Insulators, Conductor riding and Knot-tying led by CAGELCO II’s Master Trainer Engr. Elmer P. Francisco and Assistant Trainer Engr. Efren P. Loretcha.
The graduates were also introduced with basic competencies on the operations and knowledge on the Electric Power Industry and EC operations, importance of teambuilding and building a respectful workplace, occupational safety and health, Computer operations, Networking and Fiber Optic Maintenance delivered by CAGELCO II employees- ISD Manager Kristine T. Basquez, Chief HR Odessa Mae A. Guillano, HR Officer Glorina M. Pagaduan, Area Manager Engr. Nathaniel L. Reyes, and MIS Head Leonard A. Sandoval.
Meanwhile, as part of the core competencies, lectures with actual application regarding Secondary Lines, Distribution Transformers, Service Dropping and kWhm meter was discussed by SES Section Head Engr. Paul Christian Olangco, and lectures on Electrical Safety and Staking Sheet Reading were provided by Chief Transmission Div. Engr. Algeron R. Orquia and Chief Engineering Div. Engr. Darwin R. Guimay, respectively.
In his closing remarks, TSD Manager Engr. Prosperido S. Ignacio, Jr. congratulated Batch “Masidlak” – a Visayan word which means “to shine brightly” as they shone brightly with their brilliance and skills.
The cooperative extends its heartfelt congratulations to all the completers and proudly recognizes the Top 10 graduates who have demonstrated exceptional skills, dedication and perseverance throughout the duration of their training, distinguishing themselves as outstanding representatives of their batch.
