CAGELCO II Holds Power 101 Symposium for Sanchez Mira NHS Students
SANCHEZ MIRA, CAGAYAN — The CAGELCO II Sanchez Mira Sub-Office (SMSO) conducted a Power 101 Symposium for Grade 12 students of Sanchez Mira National High School on March 13, 2026, to educate the youth on the basics of electricity, electrical safety, and responsible energy consumption.
OIC Area Manager Ericson V. Pasion discussed the processes of power generation, transmission, and distribution, giving students a clearer understanding of how electricity is produced and delivered from power plants to households and communities.
Operations Head Engr. Elpidio Oal also explained the common causes of power interruptions, highlighting also the occurrence of low voltage during the summer season when electricity demand increases.
Meanwhile, Consumer Accounts Officer Ms. Claren Pacris shared essential electrical safety reminders while, Community Development Officer Mr. Rexie Tabuniar (CDO) presented practical “Kuryentipid” tips, encouraging students to practice energy conservation and responsible electricity consumption.
The symposium served as an avenue to raise awareness among the youth about the importance of electricity, energy efficiency, and electrical safety in everyday life.
