In response to concerns raised by its Member-Consumer-Owners (MCOs) regarding the increase in the July 2026 power rate and the power quality across its service area, CAGELCO II conducted a Virtual Public Town Hall on August 4, 2026, through its official Facebook page.
The panel of speakers included TSD Manager Engr. Prosperido S. Ignacio Jr., ISD Manager Kristine T. Basquez, CAET Chief Jaylor U. Tablit, CorPlan Chief Engr. Elmer P. Francisco, and Engineering Division Chief Engr. Darwin R. Guimay. Each speaker discussed topics within their respective areas of responsibility and provided updates on the Cooperativeโs operations.
During the first half of the program, the management addressed frequently asked questions, including the factors that contributed to the increase in the July 2026 power rate, the causes of voltage fluctuations, the measures being implemented by the Cooperative to mitigate the effects of the unstable voltage, and the issue of system loss.
The second half featured an open forum, where MCOs watching the livestream were given the opportunity to raise their concerns and receive direct responses from the management.
The Virtual Public Town Hall forms part of CAGELCO IIโs continuing commitment to transparency, accountability, and consumer engagement.
Through initiatives such as this, the Cooperative aims to provide timely and accurate information, strengthen communication with its Member-Consumer-Owners, and clarify issues affecting the electric power industry.
